Everything is Wet

September 18, 2011 – Day 10 – 23 miles

Felt slow and lethargic all day; partly due to the dreary and rainy conditions.  I thought I could wait out the rain in my time this morning, but I ended up breaking camp in the rain anyway and all I got out of this was a late start to my day.

Another day of solitude on the river.  In this part, the river meanders through a forest with sandy, eroded banks. This evening I made a fire (my second of the trip) in an effort to dry off and scare away low morale.  It did both, as well as gave me a nice warm spot by which to listen to the sound s of the forest at nightfall.
